AI agents are slowly destroying my Compose Design System. 🚨 Audited 396 files: 47 duplicate tokens, 68 orphans, and AI mixing 4.dp for spacing & radius. I built AST guardrails to stop it. How are you handling AI drift in large projects? 👇 #AndroidDev #JetpackCompose #Kotlin #AI #MCP #Android

things i’ve found extremely useful on ai code projects lately: 1. 100% code coverage ci gate. there’ll be flakes but you can deal with them as you go 2. create a shots cli suite to programmatically screenshot any page for ai to review 3. have agents running scenarios on your code as QA

This Thursday 29th October: Modern design - Can we leverage design systems to avoid the chaos that can often be associated with #AI use? Can people escape from their 'box'? Courtney has answers and we're sure there will be some open questions too from any #WebDesign #FrontEnd and #Figma fans.

Nicole Sullivan@nicolesullivan.bsky.socialBluesky

Sure, but you have to figure out how to get an agent to *use* a design system reliably, rather than just making things up from its training data. How are folks solving that?

Burton Smith@stuffbreaker.bsky.social

I'm not sure it will become a maybe. The things that make a design system valuable don't change with an LLM. It may change how we build some of the assets and present the context, but I believe design systems are even more valuable in an agentic world.

From a team lead on Reddit: "we're starting to drown from code review." The AI factory doesn't get rid of review. It piles more onto it, and on Rails teams a lot of that pile is UI. Naughty Claude. Send me one AI-built screen plus your design system. I'll send back 3 fixes, free.
